People get restless.
They have a right to be.
The trees are calling,
Fragile honey locusts and sturdy oaks
And the smell of freshly mown grass
That lingers in our senses.
Crazy Beth speeds along with Baby
Alice half out of her stroller
And there is Fred with his wandering dog
And a woman without child eating
Ice cream off a stick
And skateboard Sammy looking to knock
An old man down.
You sit here because you just passed
The house where young love died.
You don’t live there anymore
And she doesn’t either.
